BJP MLA from Raibag Duryodhan Aihole said Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi, a Dalit leader, should be made the chief minister of the state.
Speaking to presspersons at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi on Saturday, Mr. Aihole said that since no Dalit leader from the BJP had become the Chief Minister, it was his wish that at least in the Congress, a Dalit leader should become the Chief Minister. “We will be happy if Dalit leader Satish Jarkiholi, who is from our district, becomes the chief minister,” he said.
He said that before the start of the winter session in Belagavi, the Speaker’s fight should end and the session should shed light on the problems of North Karnataka and try to solve them.
Mr. Aihole alleged that the BJP and JD(S) MLAs received development funds only from the public works department held by Mr. Satish Jarkiholi.
