Bharatiya Janata Mla Usha Thakur said on Thursday that people who participate in “love jihad” should be punished under the law of Sharia. Thakur said that his eyes should be slipped and his hands cut off. Sharia, a traditional Islamic law, has a provision for such criminals for such harsh punishments, she said.
The term “Love Jihad” is used by right -wing organizations to claim that Muslim men attract women of other religions and marry them to turn them into Islam.
Usha Thakur was a former Minister of Culture Madhya Pradesh.
When Usha Thakur asked about alleged cases of love jihad in Indore and Bopal, he said that those involved in these incidents “very mischievously” say they do “Sawab” (virtuous) work.
The ruling party of the Mhow in the Indore district added that criminals who act against humanity and morality should be punished by Sharia Law.
“If these people openly violate the law on jihad against love, then, according to Sharia, their eyes should be issued and their hands should be chopped.
“If such evil people are caught (police), they will not be spared. Their houses, property, everything will be confiscated and wandered on the road like beggars. Only then will they stop doing such demonic actions,” Bjp Mla said.
