Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over what they called his “anti-India” statements during his recent trip to Germany.
State Union Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje lashed out at Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, calling him an “anti-Indian leader” for criticizing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government during his visit to Germany.
Karandlaje questioned the Lok Sabha leader’s “target” for “speaking against the nation” and said he was “still behaving like a child”.
“Rahul Gandhi is not an opposition leader but an anti-India leader who goes abroad and speaks against the nation. What does he want to gain? He is still behaving like a child, not a leader,” Shobha Karandlaje said.
The criticism comes after Rahul Gandhi again leveled allegations of “vote-stealing” against the Indian government and listed duplicate voters in the electoral roll during a speech at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress had won the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections and that the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections were not “fair”.
The Lok Sabha LoP said their party had not received a “response” from the Election Commission when they flagged the issue.
Speaking at the Hertie School on “Politics is the Art of Listening”, Rahul Gandhi said: “We won the Telangana elections in Himachal Pradesh. We have raised concerns about the fairness of elections in India. I have held press conferences in India where we have made it clear, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we won the Haryana elections and that we do not believe that the Maharashtra elections are a fair place. We have raised direct electoral questions about the institutional framework of our country.” commission.”
“A Brazilian woman was on the electoral roll in Haryana 22 times… We have not received a response. We fundamentally believe that there is a problem with the electoral machinery in India,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi also alleged that the Center has “weaponized” the investigative agencies, suggesting that businessmen in India are financially supporting the BJP rather than the opposition parties.
“Rahul Gandhi’s Congress Wants Anarchy”
He said, “There has been a mass capture of our institutional framework. Our intelligence agencies, ED and CBI, have been armed. ED and CBI have no cases against the BJP and most of the political cases are against those who oppose them. If you are a businessman and you try to support the Congress, you are at risk. The BJP is using the institutional framework of India as a tool to build political power. Look at what the Opposition and the money have.”
Rahul Gandhi is on a five-day visit to Germany.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also slammed Rahul Gandhi for his comments.
“Rahul Gandhi’s Congress with its ideological patron George Soros want chaos, unrest in Indian democracy…Rahul is going abroad to unite such anti-Indian forces….Congress hates Indian democracy….Congress hates Bharat’s progress..Rahul Gandhi’s Congress wants anarchy!”, Bhandari said in a post on X.
