BJP is targeting Rahul Gandhi, says MB Patil
Congress workers staged a rally in Vijayapur on Tuesday to protest the FIR against Rahul Gandhi
Congress workers protested against the FIR lodged against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Vijayapur on Tuesday.
The rally was led by district in-charge minister MB Patil and others. They condemned the registration of an FIR against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
The protesters walked away from Dr. BR Ambedkar Circle and reached the Deputy Commissioner’s office. They raised slogans against the BJP-led NDA government at the centre. They handed over the petition to President Droupadi Murma through Deputy Commissioner Anand K.
“BJP and RSS workers cleaned the place where Leader of the Opposition Rajya Sabha and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge gave a speech in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. This is a clear case of caste discrimination. Rahul Gandhi demanded strict action against those involved in the cleaning ritual. Instead of taking action against the accused, this organization highly pressured Rahulandhi to condemn the FIR by the government authorities.” said Mr. Patil.
The Uttarakhand Police, acting at the behest of the BJP government in the state, registered a case against Mr. Gandhi at the Kotwali police station in Haldwani town. Through this, the BJP openly defended its casteist behavior. BJP is playing revenge politics. The Central Government is vindictive towards Mr. Gandhi. It is a clearly politically motivated act to silence the voice of the opposition. However, we have faith in the judicial system and will fight the case legally, he said.
MLA Vitthal Katakadhond, Congress constituency president Mallikarjuna Loni, leaders Raju Alagura, Mohammed Rafiq Tapal, Prabhugowda Lingadalli, Chandsab Gadagalav, Subhas Kalebaga and others were present.
