“Punjab is not only protecting India’s borders but also protecting India’s soul. BJP’s main agenda is to bring Punjab out of the current crisis and make it safe, prosperous and strong. BJP is set to write history in Punjab,” he said at events in Jalandhar and Ludhiana.

“Punjab is the land of teachings of Gurus, penance of saints and blood of martyrs. It represents a living tradition of service, devotion and sacrifice,” he said.

“Every grain of Punjab’s soil reminds us that a nation is not sustained by power alone; it is shaped by the values handed down by saints and therein resides the soul of India. Rulers may change, but the soul of India has never changed. Whenever society has gone astray, saints have shown the right path. Whenever darkness has increased, saints have lit society’s lamp of hope, he added.

Mr. Nabin, who is on a three-day visit to Punjab, said the state was grappling with the menace of drugs and there was a need for a united drive against drug abuse.

“Drug addiction has become a curse for the people of Punjab. We must reject it outright. It destroys lives and devastates countless households. On this International Day of Yoga, let us collectively pledge to eradicate this scourge from Punjab and the entire nation. We will not tolerate anything that weakens our roots or allows this poison to seep into our society during our youth,” he said.

“India is now moving forward with a unique national goal. The mantra ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ remains the driving force that is driving the country to become a developed nation by 2047,” he added.
