BJP demands resignation of Keralam CM and Pinarayi
Keralam BJP state general secretary S. Suresh said the party would hold a rally on Monday (October 12, 2026) demanding the resignation of both the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
With the Assembly session set to begin on Monday (October 12, 2026), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will stage protests demanding the resignation of both Chief Minister VD Satheesan and Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan.
Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday (October 11, 2026), BJP General Secretary S. Suresh said the BJP demanded the resignation of Mr. Satheesan if he was sincere about the cause of the Congress protest in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over an alleged discrepancy.
The protest demanding Mr. Vijayan’s resignation is against the Kerala High Court’s order to register an FIR in the CMRL-Exalogic pay case.
“Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that all state governments that came to power after SIR are illegal. So Mr. Satheesan is an illegal Chief Minister. If his participation in the protest was sincere, he should resign as CM. On the other hand, does Mr. Vijayan think he was ousted because of SIR?” Mr. Suresh asked.
He said the SIR was a massive process involving as many as 46,000 people. “The SIR process was not done by Gyanesh Kumar alone. Out of 46 million people, 11 million were government employees, while 35 million BLAs were from various political parties. Only 9 million of these BLAs were from the BJP. They are trying to discredit the system. Was Rathan U. Kelkar, former attorney general, appointed CM’s election officer?” Mr. Suresh asked.
He said the BJP is the “real opposition” which has been questioning the failure of the state government for the past few months. The LDF had no moral or political authority to challenge the UDF government. The BJP will hold a rally demanding the resignation of both the Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition on Monday, he said.
