Congress President Andhra Pradesh (APCC) Ys Sharmila said on Friday that an attack on tourists in Pahalgam revealed a complete failure of the intelligence wing.
When she spoke here at the Party’s Executive Meeting, she said it was a complete failure on the security front, because the army did not arrive even after the attack.
She blamed the BJP of “using intelligence and tracking systems for her own interests,” she said why the tragedy of Pahalgam occurred despite the presence of 10 lakh soldiers in Kashmir.
She argued that BJP was trying to create a Hindu-Muslim abyss “by building a narrative that the Hindes were killed because of their religion,” she said there was a Muslim among the deceased.
She said Kashmir was promoted as a safe tourist destination and now the government has admitted a lack of security. It demanded that the government its own responsibility for the loss of innocent civilian lives and resign.
Member of the Congress Committee (CWC) K. Raju said that the party would continue to fight BJP, which insulted the Institute. “The Constitution provides the same rights to all, but BJP rules in a way that benefits only a few. We will expose the position of BJP,” he said. The party would start a nationwide 40 -day campaign for revealing “wrong policies of BJP”, he said.
AICCs were present as a matter of congress in Andhra Pradesh Manickam Tagore, leaders of N. Raghuveer Reddy and N. Thulasi Reddy, APCC Vice President Kolaanonda Shivaji and others. In the evening, the party leaders took the candlelight march in solidarity with the surviving family members of the terrorist attack.
