Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president PVN Madhav directed party leaders and workers to celebrate Ugadi with traditional fervor across Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing offerings to village deities and community participation as part of the festivities. He ordered that sacrifices be made in the name of the party and that local leaders organize processions with villagers drumming.
During an audio conference on Wednesday, the BJP leader asked the party cadre to make the Ugadi celebrations in all party offices meaningful and people-oriented. He ordered that traditional reading of “Panchanga” (almanac) be organized in district offices by inviting priests and holding prayers.
Mr. Madhav also urged party leaders to visit prominent temples in villages in their respective districts and actively participate in the celebrations along with the local communities. He noted that such initiatives, especially during Uganda and New Moon periods, will help strengthen the party’s connection with the people at the grassroots level.
Mr. Madhav said the celebrations should reflect the rich traditions of the state while encouraging closer involvement of party workers and the public. He urged the leaders to carefully plan the programs to ensure wider participation and a spirit of commitment and unity.
