Bharatiya Janata (BJP) indicated on Saturday (October 4, 2025) that she would report candidates for all four seats of Rajya Sabha in Jammu and Kashmir, and the vote was scheduled for October 24. The process called candidates began.
“The party discussed the criteria and current political requirements for deciding on suitable candidates who can effectively represent people in Rajya Sabha,” said BJP spokesman Sunil Sethi after the party’s main group.
The party candidates were considered four leader BJP leader, sources said. The meeting in Jammu saw the leaders, including the National Secretary General BJP Tarun Chugh, President J&K BJP SAT Sharma and the Minister of the Union Jitendra Singh present to complete the party’s strategy before the elections.
The Jammo Committee is likely to approve the central party leadership in Delhi in the coming days to complete the chairs and names for them, the sources said.
The J&K Assembly has 90 seats, while the ruling national conference has about 50 members, including independent legislators. BJP has 28 members and is convinced that it will win at least one chair.
