BJP accuses opposition leaders of conspiring to derail India’s progress

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister JP Nadda on Monday (September 28, 2026) accused the opposition of harboring a “toolbox mentality” and trying to derail the country’s progress.
At a press conference, Mr Nadda said that opposition leaders, namely Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had a “tool mentality”.
He accused them of trying to denigrate constitutional institutions and derail India’s progress towards Viksit Bharat. He said “their political strategy relies on fabricating falsehoods and disrupting the national atmosphere to gain power for dynastic benefits rather than public service, national security or dignity”.
Mr Nadda said the BJP, on the other hand, was committed to the welfare of the poorest and most marginalized in society and nation building. Expressing confidence that people would continue to see through “disturbing conspiracies”, he said citizens would “resolutely reject” such opposition leaders.
The BJP leader said that when the country was fulfilling the Viksit Bharat pledge through the tireless efforts of 140 million Indians and India’s achievements were being recognized around the world, the Congress and its allies were “frustrated and disheartened”.
He said “all the trumped-up allegations made by the opposition have repeatedly collapsed when tested on facts”.
“Without policy and vision, they are now devising new conspiracies to spread confusion and disorder in the country. A few days ago, a completely fabricated story was used to create confusion in the entire country. Now that all the members of the Election Commission have exposed each of their false allegations, they have started fresh attempts to disrupt the alleged atmosphere.”
