The bride in Shamshabad, Agra, called her wedding on Saturday after finding that her room at the venue organized by the groom’s family had no air conditioning. The incident led to a heated exchange, police intervention and a formal complaint about harassment.
The police said the bride had arrived at the venue and complained that he felt suffocating because of intensive heat. She called it “unacceptable and inhuman situation” and demanded that the air conditioning be arranged immediately.

“She told her parents that in a house where there was no respect for her and such a basic device could not be organized, her life will become a hell of a hell,” Police offican quoted, as the press said.
As the argument intensified, the local police were called to the venue. Hansraj Bhadoria, an officer responsible for the police station, said they tried to mediate between the two families. The bride, however, stood at her decision and returned with her family on Sunday morning.
The mother of the bride later filed a formal complaint at the local police station and accused the groom’s family of requiring excessive dowry. Authorities initiated the accusation investigation.
A relative of a woman who spoke with the imprint on condition of anonymity, said: “When all efforts to alleviate the dispute failed, the family decided to pay the groom’s party any costs incurred in organizing the wedding. Once the payment was made, the family left the wedding point.”
