During the tragic incident, a 20 -year -old student was found in his hostel room on Thursday in his hostel room on Thursday at the Bits Pilani in South Goa, PTI quoted a police official.
“Rishi Nair was found dead in his hostel room around 10.45 hours. The door of his room was forced after he did not respond to his mobile phone calls. He was lying down on his bed. The cause of death was found,” PTI quoted.
Since December 2024 it has been the fifth such incident. Previously, students named OM Priyan Singh (December 2024), Atharv Desai (March 2025), Krishna Kasera (May 2025) and Kushagra Jain (August 2025) Found dead in the respective hostel rooms.
Main Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters that under the collector was created a committee to explore these incidents. “Such incidents are unfortunate and should not be reappeared,” Sawant said.
“After receiving the collector’s report, the state government will take further steps. Bits Pilani, a private university considered, has to issue a formal statement about the incident,” CM added.
