
The Indian team for emergency situations (Cert-in) and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BIT) Pilani Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MO) to start professional development programs in cyber security for work professionals.
The aim of this significant step is to strengthen the Indian capabilities of cyber defense and build a qualified workforce of cyber security.
Cert-in, which operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity), is responsible for the protection of Indian digital infrastructure.
Who can benefit from the program?
The program will be available to experts in the government, public sector and industry companies, including those who do not have previous coding experience.
The program will help participants gain expertise in the following areas, step to bridge the digital gap between professionals in India:
- Cyber threats and vulnerability
- Network Security (Firewally, IDS/IPS, VPN)
- Secure Communication and Cryptography
- Cyber Security Policy, Legal Framework and Incident Management
- Advanced topics including cloud, mobile and advanced persistent threats
Program details
Bits Pilani will provide training through its Center for Excellency of Research in National Security (CRENS) in Hyderabad campus.
The program will start 19 July 2025 and is open to professionals across domains.
Once the participant has successfully completed the program, he receives a professional development certificate in cyber security and underlines academic strictness and national institutional recognition.
The objective of cooperation
The aim of the cooperation project is to solve rapidly growing demand for structured building capacities with a high impact in cyber security, which is an area of increasing importance in the development of digital threats and challenges in cyber security.
CEO Cert-in, Dr. Sanjay Bahl said that “Indie’s cyber resistance considers its true power not only in the use and development of indigenous top technology, but also in the development of a live and highly qualified talent fund.”
This program also means the first formal engagement in which Cert-in has worked with the Premier Institution to directly support the development of the workforce of cyber security in the country.
