
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Madurai Branch, led the discussion here on Wednesday on an Indian standard focusing on medical fabrics such as blankets, pillow envelopes and blankets.
SD Dayanand, Head of Director and Head, BIS, Madurai, said there were separate standards and specifications for medical textiles used in medical facilities. Strict instructions should be followed in one -off use and repeatedly usable bedrooms, cushion covers in medical facilities. In the medical textile there were specifications for control of infection. The production of textiles should adhere to appropriate specifications in the production of medical textile and bedding.
