
New Delhi: The Indian Standards (BIS) Office has intensified its interventions against non -standard products sold by electronic trading platforms and carried out the main raids in warehouses associated with Amazon and Flipkart in Delhi.
In the search and session surgery on Amazon Sellers PVT. LTD’s equipment in Mohan Cooperative Industrial Region On March 19, BIS officials confiscated over 3,500 products, including water geysers, food blends and electrical appliances, either missing compulsory brand ISI, or carrying false labels, according to the release of the Ministry for Consumer Affairs.
This is the second such air raid that BIS on Amazon and flipkart in March. The first was March 7. Estimated value of goods confiscated in March 19 raids stands around £70 Lakh, according to the ministry.

Independent March 19 In Instakart Services Pvt. LTD, a subsidiary Flipkart in Tri Nagar, led to a seizure of approximately 590 pairs of sports shoes, worth approximately £6 lakh. It came without the required ISI brand and production data, according to the release of the Ministry for Consumer Affairs.

In response to online platforms, they claim that they act only as a marketplace, and not as inventory holders, the Ministry of the Ministry said that the market was not limited by platforms from liability for the sale of non -standard products. The official stressed that he must comply with government rules and regulations and recent raids were strictly performed in the interest of these regulations.
With 769 products on the basis of compulsory certification, the regulator warned that production, import, distribution, sale or storage of these goods without a valid BIS license or compliance certificate is strictly prohibited, the ministry said.
The violators face fines according to the BIS law of 2016, including imprisonment, fines or both.
During earlier raids, the products included home pressure cookers, hand blends, food blends, electric irons, room heaters, PVC cables, gas stoves, toys, helmets of two wheels, switches, drawers and aluminum foils used for food packaging.

During the raids carried out on March 7 in the Flipkart warehouse in the Gurogram, the authorities confiscated 534 non -certified vacuum bottles made of stainless steel, 134 toys and 41 speakers.
Amazon India spokesman said: “Amazon operates the market in India. We require sellers that report and sell products on Amazon to comply with the laws, regulations and policies of Amazon. After notifying any non -compliance.
