
Five family members were reportedly burned over Black Magic in the village of Bihar’s Purnea, the police said on Monday. The open bodies have been obtained and three arrests have been carried out so far, the police added.
According to Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sadar Purnea, the police accepted a call from Son Kumar, 16 years old, who said that the members of the Oraon community defeated their family and burned them alive on Sunday evening.
“In the course of the investigation, when we arrived in their village, we received information about 5 missing people – Babulal Oraon, Sita Devi, Manjit Oraon, Aranaia Devi and Kakto,” Sharma said.
“Later, their burned bodies were restored. Three people were arrested,” he said, adding, “He says the child of one Ramdev Oraon died 3 days back, believed they are indulging in black magic and being killed in this context.”
Two kept for practicing black magic in Thane
Police arrested two men for alleged commitment to “black magic” activities in the crematorium in Mahari Thane District, officials said on Monday.
According to the PTI report, the “Patil” found two pictures of unidentified women embedded in a lemon wrapped in a black fabric and placed on a crematorium in the Pimplasgaon area in the Bhiwandi area.

The police worked on the identification of two women who seemingly focused on the accused and examined the motive after the law, the PTI report.
Police patiles are traditionally responsible for maintaining peace and order in their village, helping the police in the investigation and serving as contact between administration and villagers.
