
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP and JD(U) has won a strong and clear victory in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The NDA is leading or winning in 200 seats as per the latest results and trends.
The opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD and the Congress, lagged far behind. The BJP and JD(U) secured a comfortable majority in the 243-seat Bihar by-election. This result paves the way for Nitish Kumar to continue as Chief Minister and lead the new government.
Bihar Elections: Memes flood social media
Hundreds of memes flooded social media and supporters of various political parties shared their share of humor. While BJP supporters make fun of the opposition, others comment on the unpredictability of Bihar elections.
“Bihar has a unique quality. Just when you think you have Bihar figured out, Bihar shocks you,” says one meme.
“Bro actually thought he would get seats by talking about Jobs, education, health and development in Bihar,” sneered Prashant Kishor.
His Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) did not win any seats in its debut in the 2025 Bihar elections.
Meanwhile, social media is celebrating the ‘supremacy of Nitish Kumar’ as he is set to become the 10th Chief Minister of Bihar.
On 14 November, the BJP praised the NDA’s performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, calling it “historic”. The NDA held a strong lead in more than 180 of the 243 seats, with trends indicating that the BJP was heading for one of its biggest records.
Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said voters prioritize development and good governance over caste and community. He added that people have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his focus on the progress of Bihar.

“People have shown confidence in Modiji, BJP and NDA…I am proud of the fact that today our Bihar is ready to step on a new path of development,” said the BJP MP.
“They also remember Lalu’s jungle paradise,” Prasad said.
Prasad also expressed pride that Bihar was set to move faster on the path of development under the NDA government.
“This vote is about hope and trust. People have shown confidence in PM Modi’s leadership and his guarantee of development,” PTI quoted Prasad as telling reporters in Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her congratulations. According to her, Bihar and Delhi are connected.
“Congratulations to the people of Delhi and Bihar. The trends show that the NDA is headed for victory… I hope Bihar will progress on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” CM Gupta said.
BJP’s “national agenda”.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said the NDA’s strong lead in Bihar is not surprising. He alleged that the Election Commission and the BJP were working together to push a “national agenda”.

Raut compared the results in Bihar with the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly polls, where the BJP-led Mahayuti won a landslide victory and the MVA was wiped out.
“A different result from this was simply not possible. This is exactly like the pattern of Maharashtra,” he said.
