Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh on Friday (Oct 23, 2026) said the state has attracted 1,091 investment proposals worth ₹1,21,863 crore since 2025. She added that these proposals have the potential to create more than 68,807 jobs in the state, calling Bihar a target destination.
Addressing the media, she asserted that Bihar’s industrial development is moving at a fast pace under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
She pointed out that the state government’s emphasis on infrastructural development along with conducive environment, basic amenities and investor-friendly policies have enabled it to attract such huge investment proposals.
Ms. Singh, who was accompanied by Ministry Secretary Kundan Kumar, said the development of Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited (BIMCGL), spread over about 1,670 acres in Gaya ji, was progressing rapidly. She added that this project has the potential to support large-scale manufacturing activities, attract industrial investment and create new job opportunities.
“The project is slated to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary tomorrow (October 24, 2026) at Dobhi area near Bodh Gaya along with the launch of a web portal. After that, the land allotment process will begin,” Ms Singh said.
Compared to other states in India, where integrated manufacturing cities of this kind are being developed at 14 locations, Bihar is among the leading states that are working fast to implement this scheme on the ground, she added.
Highlighting the importance of BIMCGL, Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar said that for the first time Bihar is developing an industrial manufacturing city equipped with all the ultra-modern facilities required for manufacturing.
“Now the concept is evolving from an industrial area to an industrial city. This means the city will have various amenities, recreational and sports facilities. It will also include all the necessary pollution control systems to keep the industrial park environmentally clean. This will include a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP). An integrated command and control center will also come up here,” Kumar said.
He added that the state government is trying to attract investment from other countries such as ASEAN and other Southeast Asian countries as a large number of people and tourists visit both Gaya ji and Bodh Gaya, which are important centers of Buddhism.
Availability and expansion of industrial land
Stating that the state government is working hard to make land available to entrepreneurs, the Minister said that work is currently underway to make more than 14,600 acres of new industrial land available for industrial activities in Bihar.
Keeping in view the future industrial requirements, the process of acquiring land for development of new industrial areas at 28 locations in 25 districts of the state is underway, she said, adding that it will help boost land availability for large and medium industrial projects in Bihar.
Bihar Industrial Areas Development Authority (BIADA) has allotted 727.02 acres of land to 521 units since the beginning of financial year 2025-2026 till date, Ms. Singh said, adding that these projects envisage an investment of ₹ 18,380.25 crore and creation of 49,167 employment opportunities.
In addition, a network of 94 industrial estates has been developed in Bihar. Through the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, initiatives have been taken to promote the development of advanced technology based industries in the state.
A total of 47,075 beneficiaries have received assistance through six sub-schemes under the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Scheme (Mukhya Mantri Udyami Yojana). Over ₹3,414 crore has been disbursed under the scheme.
