The Indian Election Commission (EC) stated that after a month after the publication of the proposal of electoral roles after the ongoing special intensive revision (Sir) of the voters voters in Bihar, any public can submit demands and objections.
The proposal of electoral roles would be published 1 August.
The daily lists of demands and objections will be displayed in the offices of election registration officials (ERO) and published on the website of the main election officer (CEO).
‘Providing fair hearing’
Weekly updates will also be shared with political parties. The final electoral roles will be prepared only after the liquidation of claims and objections and no deletion will be carried out without proper investigation and provision of a person concerned, the survey body said on Thursday (July 3, 2025).
EC said that the same was handed over to representatives of 10 political parties that met with the Commission on Wednesday (July 2, 2025).
The body of the vote explained the timeline of the process and said that in the first phase, from 25 to 3 July, the forms of the list of approximately 7.9 Crore voters in Bihar were printed and distributed. EROS is made available to partially filled forms based on existing records on June 23, 2025. BLOS adds a list of 7.9 Crore to the electoral voters, whose names are on election roles as 24 June, which is the release of the Sir Order.
Then, in the second phase, the enumeration forms will be filled in before 25 July.
In the third phase of the exercise, which will start in parallel from June 25th to July 26, the filled forms will be earmarked BLOS together with separate documents. They can also be sent online.
In the fourth phase, the design of election roles will be published 1 August. The list will include all voters whose forms have been received by the deadline. The names for which no list form was submitted before 25 July will not appear in the role proposal.
Copies of role proposal will be provided free of charge to recognized political parties and uploaded on the EC website. Voters who lack the initial deadline can still apply during the period of claims and objections using Form-6 together with the Declaration Form.
In the fifth phase, from August 1 to September 1, any public can submit demands and objections to include or object to existing records in the role proposal. There will be no deletion without proper investigation and provision of a person concerning a fair hearing, EC said.
The last election role will be published on 30 September.
