In a key decision aimed at strengthening youth employability and cultural preservation agrees with Bihar on Tuesday (1 July 2025) approved Mukhya Mantri Pratigya Yojan, under which financial assistance will be extended to young individuals who perform internships in different societies.
The decision was taken at the meeting of the State Cabinet, chaired by the main Minister of Nitish Kumar. The state is obliged to go to the elections to the assembly sometime at the end of this year.
As part of this program, youth between the ages of 18 and 28, who have completed training in skills development programs, or organizes qualifications such as class 12, ITI, diploma, graduate or postgraduate title, in the course of its internships.
Another Chief Secretary of the Ministry of the Secretariat of the Cabinet S. Siddharth said that at a briefing after the cabinet, the young with a class of 12 4,000 GBP will be a month, while those with ITI qualification or diploma would be entitled to 5,000 GBP per month. Graduates and postgraduate study will receive 6,000 GBP per month.
In addition, those who follow internships outside their home districts will receive an additional 2,000 GBP per month, while those who are interporting outside Bihar receive 5,000 GBP a month as a living. This additional support will be limited to a maximum of three months.
Financial support will be credited directly to the recipients’ bank accounts. For supervision of the execution, a committee for the working group headed by developing commissioner and, including members from industrial bodies such as CII and Ficci, was created.
Mr. Siddharth added that 5,000 recipients will be supported in the financial year 2025-26, while this program aims to benefit in the next five years from 2026–2010.
Pension scheme for artists
In another major decision, the cabinet was approved by Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Pension Yojana, under which artists deal with classic, visual or executive art for at least 10 years a monthly pension of 3,000 GBP.
Mr. Siddharth said that this program is trying to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Bihar by providing support for eligible artists aged 50 and older, with an annual income not exceeding 1.2 lakh. In the current fiscal year, the initial expenditure of Crore 1 was sanctioned.
882 crore for Punaura Dham
The cabinet also cleaned the 882.87 GBP Crore for the integrated development of the Maa Janaki temple in Punaura Dham in the Sitamarhi district, which was assumed to be the birthplace of the goddess Sita.
The temple complex is to develop on the lines of the RAM temple in Ayodhya. The total sanctioned amount will be for the development of an old temple and space, Crore, Crore for tourism infrastructure and 16 crore for ten years of maintenance.
The project will be implemented by Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation.
Employment rules changed
The Cabinet also approved the proposal of the Department of Work Resources to change the Bihar Factory rules, from 1950, which allows women – except for pregnant and breastfeeding women – to work in factories classified as dangerous.
Siddharth said this step would help expand job opportunities for women in the industrial sector.
On Tuesday, a total of 24 agendas were handed over in the cabinet.
