The former White House press secretary only said that during her tenure, she had never witnessed the hints of the mental decline of President Joe Biden and distanced himself from the fear of being worried after his widely criticized the debate performance of 2024.
“I have never seen it – I was even once in an oval office every day – that was in the stage of the debate,” PSAKI said on Friday at a mixed signal podcast.
Biden’s bad performance in the debate against Donald Trump made extensive calls, even from his own side, to leave the race 2024.
Left in 2022, since he saw Biden since
Psaki stressed that she left the administration in May 2022 and has since seen Biden personally only once. She warned against drawing conclusions about his health stay.
“I think covering is such a charged phrase,” PSAKI spoke in a podcast when he asked if the White House helpers protected the public from a biden cognitive decline. “I don’t know the facts about what is going privately.”
“Aging is going quite quickly”
Psaki acknowledged the effects of age and said, “I’m not a doctor, aging is happening quite quickly.” She added, “Were these things that people saw during the time that were similar or would be in the category? I don’t know, maybe. And all these books will tell us.”
Rejects the narration of the covering
Psaki claimed that talking about “cover” means crimes and that such accusations are dangerous if no legal violation has been proven.
“Covering is often as a crime. People use this term when referring to Watergate or covering the non -shared public information about war,” she said.
She insisted that her former colleagues were well meant: “I would like to think they would not be part of the active” Let’s hide from the public what we see privately. “
Media control and Republican narrative
Asked if the media could not explore Biden’s mental fitness, PSAKI admitted, “Maybe the media was missing a lot, and so in retrospect, the main stories were missing and the moments were missing.”
She also accused Republican workers of premature formation of public narrative. “There was an aggressive pitching operation from right -wing and Republicans about the age of Joe Biden and how he declined … Most of them were not true, in 2019–2022,” she said.
Biden’s re -induction of a dirty heritage, says Psaki
Psaki suggested that Biden’s decision to re -election – and eventually fell in favor of vice president of Kamala Harris – negatively influenced his legacy.
“I think many of his heritage have been based on this issue that he is running for re -election, that he is not aware or not honest with himself, that he is not (able) to make a complete period,” she said.
