A collection of folk stories on agriculture and environment titled ‘Bhoomige Ragi Bandiddu’ was released by Rangayana director Satish Tipatur at a function held at the Institution of Engineers auditorium in Mysuru on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tipatur expressed concern that folk stories, ragi and similar traditions were becoming relics of the past. “We live in a strange time. When we think about how to engage today’s children, more than 25% of urban children and parents believe that ragi, rice, clothes and everything else just comes from shops. They don’t realize their connection with the soil,” he said.
