Bhatti urges Govt. employees to adopt AI for better public service delivery
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday urged Telangana government employees to enhance their understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and effectively use emerging technologies in their day-to-day work to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery. He also suggested that the department identify suitable areas for AI pilot projects and expand their use based on proven benefits in terms of public service, efficiency and accuracy.
Inaugurating the AI Saksham program organized by TG MATH with the support of Planning Department at MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad, Mr. Vikramarka said that government employees should take full advantage of AI training initiatives to enhance their technological capabilities and keep up with the rapid advancement of the industry.
According to him, artificial intelligence should not only help speed up office work, but also contribute to a more effective resolution of citizens’ complaints. The real measure of AI’s success would be the positive impact it creates in people’s lives, he said, adding that the program was aimed at building the capacity of civil servants and improving administrative efficiency. He emphasized that officials should learn to use AI applications as per the requirements of their roles by actively participating in training.
He highlighted the public benefits of the technology and said AI-enabled governance should help reduce delays in service delivery, ensure faster processing of requests and easier access to information for citizens. He urged officials to use the time saved by AI-driven processes to more efficiently address public complaints and improve service quality.
He also emphasized the importance of data security, accuracy and accountability when using AI. Officials have been advised not to enter official or personal information into unauthorized AI platforms and to verify AI-generated content before using it in official records or decision-making processes.
Planning Secretary Gaurav Uppal, TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar, TG MATH Managing Director Pooja, MCR HRD Institute CEO Shanti Kumari and other officials attended the programme.
