Industries and Commerce Minister TG Bharath on Thursday (October 30) directed officials to complete the construction of the new Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) building by April 2026.
Bharath along with KMC Commissioner P. Viswanatha inspected the ongoing work on the new office building. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharath said that the new three-storey building stands on 3.12 acres and is being constructed at a cost of ₹ 28 crore.
Mr. Bharath said that 50% of the work has been completed and the bills for the work done have been sanctioned recently.
Mr. Viswanatha said the existing building does not meet the needs of the increased population in the city. He said that the municipal office will be shifted from the existing building to Pride Plaza in Venkataramana Colony and the old building will be demolished.
