Bharat Innovation Challenge returns for Season 2

Bharat Innovation Challenge is back with its second edition. Organized and hosted by Lovely Professional University (LPU), Bharat Innovation Challenge 2.0 (BIC 2.0) challenges students of classes 8-12 aged 13 to 18 years to engage and identify real problems and develop innovative, practical and scalable solutions.

Season 2 has 10 innovation themes, 29 winning categories, prize money of ₹14 crore, including a Grand Champion prize worth ₹3,000, along with themed and special prizes. The top teams will advance to the grand finale at LPU, where students will also receive opportunities for certificates, internships, mentorship, national exposure and potential financial support. Registration and online applications close on October 10.

Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder-Chancellor, LPU and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), said, “India’s young minds have the potential to transform today’s biggest challenges into tomorrow’s solutions. Through the Bharat Innovation Challenge, we want to provide school students with a national platform where their ideas are not only heard but also encouraged, mentored and transformed into the innovation potential achieved in our schools in Season 1. 2, we are taking this opportunity to an even bigger stage.”

Students can join teams of two to five students with one faculty mentor to develop solutions for 10 topics: Agritech & Rural Innovation, Healthcare & HealthTech, Smart Living & Urban Intelligence, Cybersecurity & Ethical Tech, Education & EdTech, Climate & Sustainable Tech, Aerospace & Frontier Tech, AI & Financial and Inclusion, Impact. The Grand Final will take place on November 20-21.

The competition will take place in two phases. Phase 1 involves registering online and submitting ideas via PowerPoint or PDF. Entries will be judged on innovation, problem solving, feasibility, impact, scalability and presentation.

The best teams will advance to the grand finale, which will be held on November 20-21 at the LPU campus, where students will showcase their innovations and showcase them in front of experts and industry leaders. Finalist teams will be provided with accommodation, food and local pick-up and drop-off facilities.
