
Bharat Bandh 9 July 2025 Live: More than 25 crore workers from the public service industry such as banking, insurance, coal mining, postal and construction, will take part in the national general strike on Wednesday.
The coalition of 10 central trade unions and their collaborators called for “Bharat Bandh” to protest against what they describe as a government “opposite, anti-farmer and anti-national policy”.
Amarjet Kaur said from all the Indian trade union congress: “It is expected that more than 25 crore workers will take part in a strike. Farmers and rural workers will also join the protest throughout the country.”
He emphasizes that “the national general strike becomes a great success” and the trade unions in all sectors formal and informal/unorganized economies have been actively preparations, according to a formal statement.
“We require unemployment from the government, recruitment of sanctioned functions, creating more jobs, increasing days and remuneration of MGNGA staff and the enactment of similar legislation for urban areas.
