Harshit Rana recently shared a lighthearted moment that perfectly captures Virat Kohli’s playful side and brings fans back to the celebrations after India’s 2025 Champions Trophy triumph. Recalling the scenes in the dressing room after the final, Rana said he was part of the team but did not play the match. When he walked in after winning, he found himself meeting Anushka Sharma for the first time. “I walked into the dressing room and Anushka Sharma was also there. I met her for the first time. So I called her ‘madam’,” Rana said while talking to MensXP. However, this quickly turned into a prank at Rana’s expense. Kohli, never one to miss an opportunity for humor, immediately intervened. “Then he told me, ‘tu ma’am kyu bol raha hai inko? Bhabhi was inko,'” Rana recalled, laughing at the memory. Rana explained that he was trying to justify himself since it was their first interaction. “I told him it was my first time meeting her,” he said. Kohli is not done yet. “Then he told her I was like that and I poured champagne on him a while ago and now I’m calling you ma’am. When asked if Kohli is really as funny as he sometimes appears in front of the camera, Rana did not hesitate. “A lot, he likes jokes,” he said. Kohli has long been known for his intense and energetic approach on the field, especially during his time as India’s captain, when the team achieved new standards of fitness and competitiveness. But stories like these highlight another side of him, a leader who likes to keep the atmosphere light and relaxed in the dressing room. Rana, meanwhile, has been steadily asserting his place among India’s budding fast bowlers since his international debut in 2024. After making his mark with KKR in the IPL, he was part of the Indian team that won the 2025 Asia Cup and became a credible option for Shubman Gill in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand.
