Committing across Bengalur will last significant problems, because many roads that are set for white remain in the state of the accident. In many areas, roads that have been dug for infrastructure work were left unattended and create dangerous and unpleasant conditions for everyday travel. In some locations, she did not even start.
According to a higher BBMP official, the civic body is currently working on white performance on 187 km of arterial roads over approximately 50 sections. The project began in November 2024. Meanwhile, according to the BBMP budget introduced on March 29, more than 6,000 GBP Crore will be used over the next five years. BBMP official said that the civic body plans in a phase manner on white 1,682 km of arterial and subarterial roads.
However, although the administration for Whitetopping and is large, commuting, who must navigate these sections, do not seem to be very happy.
The first example is the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, also known as the Jawaharlal Nezru road, located in the 5th phase of Beml, RR Nagar. Unlike its name, this “model” road is far from an example. About four months ago, a 1.3 -kilometer section for service work was carried out. Since then, the commuters had to withstand bumpy rides, while shops lining the road are surrounded by thick layers of dust. This fundamental section is connected by KENGERI with the main road Uttarahali, which makes it a major route for everyday operation.
Mahesh S., the locals, pointed out that hundreds of BMTC buses use this section because there is a warehouse and terminal nearby. The bad condition of the road made it difficult for bus drivers to maneuver, especially during the tops. Large craters are now dominated in the wheelchair and the asphalt has almost completely eroded.
With a closed part of the road commuting informally, they created a narrow way to cross between the roads near the bus booth. However, this temporary repair has led to several accidents. Ramesh S., a seller in the area, complained that without regular irrigation, dust continues to accumulate and affects traders and residents now suffering from dust allergies.
Link Road
Another seriously influenced section is 1.5 km Link Road (formerly Kenchanahali Road), which leads to Global Village Tech Park via Pattanagere. This road, partly white, turned into a muddy and slippery track due to excessive water that was poured by the supplier. The resulting breaking is a serious risk to cyclists who often slip. This route connects the Technology Park on the Mysuru road and is used daily by thousands of commuting. Working with white performance began more than five months ago, but noted little progress.
Kiran Shetty, a technical professional, told Hindu that he had stopped using his bike for commuting due to poor road conditions. “It is irony that the road was in better shape before working with white performance,” he said. “Pedestrians cannot walk without being shot from passing vehicles. I have been skin twice and now I use my car, which increases fuel costs while working on the road is crawling forward.”
Holiday Village Road
The 2.7 km section of the Holiday Village Road in Vajarahalli, which connects thousands of residents with Kanakapura Road, has become drastically deteriorated since this area was subjected to Jurisdiction of BBMP. Initially, the water pipes were dug, the road has been in a state of neglect ever since. Although the foundation stone was laid for white topping, the real work is just beginning.
The residents complain that what was once a smooth 5-10 minutes ride lasts more than 20 minutes due to the poor road condition. The section became virtually immobile and the BBMP plan on the white peak only the current width of 40 feet-point of the proposed road with an area of 80 feet called criticism.
Rchessh (name changed), resident, said: “There will be about 3,000 new houses in this area. The traffic deteriorates only. If the road remains narrow, the white tip itself will not solve this problem.”
The BBMP official said that the civic body carefully monitors work and suppliers are strictly instructed to follow the deadlines. The commuters must endure bad roads until the work is completed, and the inconvenience is temporary.
