Clearing of the banners and banners in the city streets by the city corporations has become a “normal process” after every festival after failure to prevent their installation. These flexes and banners that appear with local politicians wishing people festivals are not even removed immediately, but after these festivals, basically after they have served their purpose, making these post-festival moves an “eyewash”.
R. Rajagopalan, convenor, Bengaluru Coalition, a collective of civil society organisations, said corporations are not taking proactive steps to prevent illegal flex and banners from coming up and are only taking reactive measures that make such drives an “eyewash”.
