Mekhri Circle, one of the busiest traffic junctions of Bengalur, is expected to see more overload in the coming days, because Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is pushing forward with the construction of the second loop at Hebbal overpass.
The BDA builds a new loop on the side of ESEEM Mall to provide vehicles from Yelahanka, Kogil, Kodigelli, Airport and the surrounding northern suburbs Direct access to the Mekhri circle. Currently, there are vehicles from Tumacuro on Outer Ring Road (ORR) and aiming to Mehkri Circle to merge with Esteem Mall Service. From there he has to climb the road loop Tumacuru to get to the already tightened overpass, which carries the operation linked to the airport.
Upon completion, it is expected to facilitate mass operation on Junction Hebbal by giving these vehicles a separate two -lane passage. For the time being, however, the construction has slowed the movement of the vehicle. The BDA reduced some of the service trips near Hebbal to allow construction. This forced the traffic police to get on the vehicles and limit the movement to two lanes in the busy corridor. As a result, vehicles from Yelahanka and other northern suburbs go to a narrower section and cause longer traffic jams during top hours. The operation tied to the airport also slows down in this obstacle.
While officials of the traffic police admit that the new loop will facilitate overload in Hebbal as soon as they open, they warn that relief may be temporary. If urban corporations do not continue to expand the service road near Circle Mehkri Circle, where land acquisition remains with defensive authorities, anxiety can move down the section and MEKRI Circle, where vehicles from Hebball, Tumacuru Road and Ballari Road already meet.
The increased tide is expected to push larger traffic into nearby routes, including the Theater Theater and Palace Gutahalli, the traffic police officer added.
Bda again miss the term
Meanwhile, a higher BDA official said Hindu that the deadline set by the Deputy Minister and Minister of Development Bengaluru DK Shivakumar for this project is 30 November. “However, continuous rain has affected progress and authority may require another 30 days, following the expected completion within 1 January,” the official added.
