In a bizarre incident, a 28-year-old dance instructor was stabbed to death by her husband even as her boyfriend slept beside her in Kengeri Satellite Town early Wednesday morning.
The deceased Navyashri, a native of Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district, was married to Kiran, a taxi driver, three years ago and lived in a rented house in a residential building in the SMV layout. The couple broke up as Kiran became suspicious of her fidelity.

On Wednesday, Navyashri called her friend Aishwarya and the duo left in a car with their mutual friend Anil. Navyashri tells Aishwarya about Kiran’s harassment and says that she does not feel safe at home due to domestic quarrel. Anil allegedly told her to file a police complaint.
The trio had dinner before Anil dropped them at Navyashri’s house. Aishwarya said in her complaint that she woke up around 6 am to find Navyashri dead with stab wounds on her neck beside her. She raised the alarm and urged the neighbors to arrive and inform the Kengeri police. Aishwarya, who works in a real estate firm, said Kiran used duplicate keys to enter the house and killed Navyashri.
The police registered a case of murder and arrested Kiran (31) within hours. Kiran said that he and Navyashri often fought over alleged extra-marital affairs. He claimed to have argued with her before killing her.
