Accused Shwetha, an employee of a private firm and elder daughter of the couple, and her boyfriend Kenneth were said to be in a live-in relationship. They lived in an apartment that had been rented a month and a half ago. The victims are said to have opposed the relationship, which led to frequent disputes within the family. The couple and their younger daughter were visiting their older daughter around 7pm, the night of the incident.

The crime came to light after neighbors alerted the authorities.
Senior officers from KR Puram police station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The bodies were taken to a hospital for autopsy.
A case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace the accused.
“There may have been an argument after which the stabbing took place. Police teams are working to trace the accused.” Bengaluru East Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adavath said.
City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said six teams have been formed to track down the accused, who are currently absconding.
Explaining the crime, he said the victims suffered multiple stab wounds and died from excessive bleeding.
The security guard said neither he nor the neighbors heard any commotion and CCTV caught the accused coming out of the flat.
