The driver of the car, identified as Pratheek H., 32, working as a sales manager in a private company on Magadi Road, was booked for murder and attempted murder, the police said.
According to police, duo, Sanjay and Chetan, who work in various IT companies, came to Konanakunte Cross last Saturday around 4.10 in the morning after completing their work with working from home. They stopped at a tea shop. Meanwhile, Pratheek and his wife returned from a birthday party, stopped in the shop and asked the duo to bring the cigarettes they refused. Then Pratheek got out of the car and allegedly cast abuse, which led to a heated argument.
The trader and Prakeek’s wife intervened, but the angry prakek reportedly threatened the duo with terrible consequences. A few moments later, while the duo left the shop and tried to O-rot on the main road Kanankapura, Pratheek, who was supposedly waiting for them, hit a bike and struck away.
Because of the impact of Chetan, he fell on the bonnet and suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, Sanjay hit the sidewalk and suffered severe head injuries. He was moved to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed a few days later.
Loket B. Jagalasar, a representative of the police commissioner (South), said that on the basis of a complaint, the police verified the CCTV camera shots to confirm the involvement of Pratheek before he was arrested.
