IPL chairman ARUN Dhumal explained that while Stampede was tragic during the celebration of the victory of Bengalur (RCB) in Bengalur, the event was not organized by the Crytket Control Council in India (BCCI).
The festive mood of the city became grim only 24 hours after the RCB ended the 18 -year waiting for the title IPL. Lakhs fans swarmed a stadium, stunning safety and triggering chaos, as a StamPede outside the venue demanded at least 11 lives And almost 50 injured. Despite the tragedy, however, the felicitation event continued inside the wrapped stadium.
“Whatever investigation needs to be done, the authorities concerned will do it. It was not an event of BCCI. It is sad and tragic. The celebrations have turned into tragedy. Our sincere condolences to families that have lost their loved ones,” Dhumal told India today.
Meanwhile, the chairman of IPL said that once he was informed of the tragedy that took place outside the stadium, he ordered the organizers to pack the proceedings.
“I am not even aware of whether the planned event or an unplanned event occurred. Whether the fans were supposed to come or came alone. When I talked to RCB officials, there was so much noise at the stadium, they probably didn’t know what was happening outside.
Dhumal also pointed to previous cases where the league favored the crowd’s safety. “We shortened the game (during IPL) in Dharamsale, assured that everyone was evacuated safely.
Secretary of BCCI Devyit Saikia called Bengalur Stampede “Very unfortunate” and said that the celebrations after the RCB triumph should be better scheduled.
“It’s very unfortunate. This is a negative aspect of popularity – people are crazy about their crickets. The organizers should plan it better. My deepest condolences to families of the deceased. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” Saikia PTI said.
He emphasized the importance of the right security protocols for extensive public events involving athletes. “When a person organizes a celebration of victory of this size, the right measures, security and security measures must be introduced. Obviously there have been some outages. After such a famous IPL, it turned into Anti-Klimax,” he said.
The comparison of Saikia’s drawing pointed to the previous celebrations that were carried out without an incident. “The IPL celebrations were before – as in Calcutta last year when Krk won – and nothing happened there,” he said.
He also quoted massive participation in Mumbai after the Indian victory of the T20 World Cup at Barbados. “It was the same when we won the World Cup T20. There was a sea of people in Mumbai, but nothing was spoiled. The police and local authorities worked in Tandem to ensure smooth behavior. I hope nothing more is,” he added.
