Deputy Chief Minister Karnataka DK Shivakumar said on Monday (June 9, 2025) that the state has learned from the recent Stampede and is considering bringing an act for the proceedings of future public assemblies.
“We need to learn. We will go out with the plan; we also have policy for future crowds. We have to come up with an act; that’s what we are looking for. It is a lesson we have to learn,” Mr. Shivakumar told reporters after meeting with Delhi Mayor Raja iqbal Singh.
Attacked opposition parties criticizing the government of Karnataka led by congress and said, “They politicize dead bodies. I am sorry.”
4th June, the celebrations of the first victory of IPL RCB became tragic when 11 people died and more than 56 were injured in death outside the Chinnaswama stadium.
Since the incident, the political Sligfest has been taking place with the opposition of BJP focused on the government led by Congress for not properly dealing with the situation.
The opposition parties demand the resignation of the Chief Minister of Karnatak Siddaramaiah and the representative of the main minister in this matter. Mr. Shivakumar was in the capital of the National Capital to take part in a meeting with MCD officials to discuss cities, spatial planning and fixed waste management.
