Namma Metro users have expressed concern over recurring issues with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in recent days, reporting failed transactions and difficulty recharging their cards.
Several passengers raised the issue on social media and said the system was unreliable despite repeated attempts.
Raghu S., a regular commuter said, “This card barely works most of the time. I honestly don’t understand what the problem is. The service is disappointing and metro stations are still unable to recharge cards for over a week due to persistent issues.”
Responding to the complaints, a senior official from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) acknowledged the breach. An official said, “We are facing intermittent interruptions in NCMC recharge due to a software glitch. Our technical team is currently working to resolve the issue.”
BMRCL along with RBL Bank unveiled the NCMC on 25 March 2023, during the launch of the Whitefield–Krishnarajapura corridor. Touted as ‘One Nation–One Card’, the initiative aims to enable seamless mobility payments across the country.
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first commuter in Bengaluru to use the card.
