A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death following a dispute over an alleged illicit relationship in Jagjeevanram Nagar on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Akram Pasha, 45, a resident of Jagjeevanram Nagar. He was allegedly attacked with a knife and killed in Devaraj Urs Colony within Jagjeevanram Nagar Police Station limits.

Akram worked at an auto body shop and was returning home from work late at night when accused Khalid (38), a mechanic, confronted him, stabbed him several times and ran away.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the act was triggered by tension arising from the deceased’s alleged extra-marital affair with the accused’s wife. After a violent confrontation, the accused stabbed Paša several times and caused him fatal injuries. Passers-by took the injured to a nearby hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead upon arrival.

A case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace the accused.
