Rapido, a popular taxi platform and bike ride, entered the grocery store with launching its new application, own. The service was introduced in three neighborhoods of Bengalur – Korangala, HSR Layout and BTM Layout – and its goal is to compete directly with swiggy and zomato.
What distinguishes its own is its zero commission model. Unlike other delivery platforms, which charge restaurants up to 30 percent, Rapido does not create from earnings in the restaurant. Instead, it will collect a fixed delivery fee for the order, which will allow customers to enjoy food at prices up to 15 % lower than a competitive application, according to the NDTV report.
From the conditions agreed with the Indian Association of the National Restaurant (NRAI), restaurants will cover the delivery of orders within four kilometers. According to the business standard, orders are worth £100 or less will have delivery costs £10 for restaurants, with customers paying £20. For orders between £100 and £400, the delivery fee will be £25 plus gst. Orders above £400 will have a delivery fee £50.
Rapido tests his own with his employees several weeks before public launch. The deliveries will solve the existing fleet of two rounds.
Rapido was founded in 2015 and in 2023 began as an aggregator for a taxi on the bicycle as an aggregator for bikes.
