Bengaluru: FIR lodged against crèche staff on allegations of physical abuse and cruelty to children

The HAL police have registered a case against the in-charge and several crèche caretakers operating inside the IT company within the limits of the HAL police station on allegations of physical abuse and cruelty to the children of the IT employees.
A case was registered at the HAL police station under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, based on a complaint filed by Tilakesh Kumar.
According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place on June 25 at “Little Buds Day Care,” located on the Capgemini campus in Brookefield. The complainant alleged that the nursery staff, including managers and carers, subjected the children to physical and psychological abuse.
The complaint further stated that children who cried or were disruptive were beaten, dragged, manhandled, locked in a washroom, had water thrown on them and otherwise subjected to physical abuse.
She also said that videos showing children crying were circulating on WhatsApp, bringing the alleged abuse to light.
Capgemini issues a statement
Meanwhile, Capgemini issued a statement. “Capgemini’s top priority is the health, safety and well-being of its employees and their families. We are fully cooperating with the relevant authorities and assisting them in their efforts to establish the facts. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily closing the Bengaluru campus day care facility,” it said in a statement.
