Police of West Bengal on Monday (June 30, 2025) convened Padma Shri Award Award, Maharaj Kartik, after a woman filed a company against him, claiming rape and sexual assault.
“In the performance of power granted according to Section 35 of Section 35 BNSS, I hereby inform you that in investigation of companies No. 395/25 DT-26/06/25 U/S 376 (2) (K)/313/506 IPC, which is registered at the police station.” Apurba Mondal Read.
Swami Pradiptananda, also known as the Maharaj card, a monk associated with Bharat Sevashram Sangha and perceived as near Bharatiya Janata (BJP), was asked to say that this event would be mentioned if failed.
The complainant told the media that Mr. Kartik had sexually abused her 12 years ago.
“In 2012, I went to stay in his ashram and worked there as a teacher. Mahara’s card forced me to have a sexual relationship. I lived in his ashram, so I was helpless,” the surviving news channel said. The woman claimed that she was forced to undergo an abortion.
Congress Trinamool, who published a photo of Mr. Kartik with the best BJP leaders, said BJP had been prosecuted by the accused.

The Minister of the Union Sukanta Majumdar indicated that the accusation can be politically motivated. “Why did this accusation suddenly appear? The police have to investigate and find out how many of these accusations are true. Make sure it is not focused only because it speaks for Hindy,” said Mr. Majumdar, also the BJP state.
The complainant responded to the war of words between BJP and Trinamool and said, “I filed a complaint against my own free will, no one forced me or forced me. I want a strict measure against him for abusing me.”
The accusations against Mr. Kartik come at a time when Trinamool is facing heat for alleged rape of a student of the right to South Calcutta Law College. Monocation Mishhra, the leader of Trinamool students, is one of the main accused in the case of rape gangs.
BJP organized several protests in the city about a problem in which it claimed that Trinamool “protects the rapists”.
