The doctors of the older inhabitants who were the face of the protests of RG Kar in West Bengal have accused the state government of their slap by “issuing punishment” as a will for protest against the government on Tuesday. They quoted the contributions of doctors refusing to Haldar, Anichet Mahatat and Asfakullah Naiya, which differed from the places they decided during the counseling.
Dr. Haldar, a postgraduate physician from the Faculty of Medicine in Calcutta, asked the Ministry of Health of West Bengal to publish at the Anesthesiology Department at the Howrah district hospital. According to official release, however, he was ordered to join the General Hospital General Hospital in the Malda district.
The doctors claimed that the place was Dr. Haldar moved, did not exist before the counseling meetings held on 27 February in Swastha Bhawan (Health Department Directorate) and was “created” as a form of “punishment”.
Dr. Mahatat, postgraduate postgraduate study in anaesteziology in RG Kar, decided to complete his leadership at the same university, but was sent to Raiganj Government Medical College and hospital in Uttar Dinajpur. “I chose Howrah GH and in my position they assigned it to me. But after the lists were published, I saw that everyone got posts of their choice except me. It can be a form of revenge,” he said.
Dr. Mahata asked that if the health care department made transparent consulting processes and adequately assigned posts, why the final lists did not reflect the same? “We do not mind going to any corner of the state to fulfill our duties as doctors, but this process should be transparent,” Dr. Mahata.
Several doctors with a similar situation protested in front of the Salt Lake State Department office and were waiting for the answers of the Minister of Health of Narayan Swaroop Nigamo. Mr. Nigam told doctors to file official complaints to the medical department. He also refuted the accusation of the “publication of punishment”.
Indiscriminate posts
In a similar incident, March 20, the head physician Subarna Goswami, Bengal based in Bengal and the public health manager, who was vocal during the movement, was transferred from the post of head physician Health (CMOH) -II in the Purba district to the Superintendent at TB in Darjeeling, Northern Bengal.
Dr. Goswami claimed that the transfer was a “vengeful step of management”, while the sources in the medical department called it “routine”.
A series of transfers and contributions led to criticism in the state medical fraternity.
