Major Minister West Bengal Mamata Banerjee announced financial assistance for the protesting group C and D non -paying employees whose appointment was recently canceled by the Supreme Court. She assured them that her government soon filed a proposal to review at the Top Court to ask for relief, along with a similar reason for affected teachers, PTI reported.
“We will go on a petition for teachers and employees of Group C and D in the Supreme Court. In this case, we are looking for legal advice,” said Banerjee.
The main minister stressed that she had not yet received any official list separating “tainted” and “unsuccessful” teachers and therefore could not comment on categorization. However, they made it clear that the affected workers would be provided with immediate support measures.
Banerjee announced interim financial relief and said: “Group C employees would receive Rs. 25 000 and Group D 30,000 employees until the outcome of the petition.”
“Until a review of the review, we will provide this support. Find out whether it agrees with it,” she said in solving concerns agitating workers.
Banerjee further assured that if the Supreme Court rejects the action, its government would explore alternative ways to support the affected. “If the court refuses our action, we will think about the alternative. For now, because you do not receive any salary, we can support you through our social security systems,” she added.
She also mentioned that the state government consulted the highest legal experts to ensure that teachers do not lose their work and do not have to be redesigned for recruitment exams.
The controversy stems from the decision of the Supreme Court on 3rd April to annul the entire recruitment panel for teachers and non -paying employees in state schools due to extensive discrepancies in the process of appointment. The decision was influenced by up to 25,753 individuals.
While the court allowed the “messages” to continue service until 31 December this year, the relief was not extended to the non -delay employees of Group C and D and left them without employment and salaries.
The aim of the latest step by Banerjee, which faces protests and political pressure, is to calm unrest and assure affected employees that the government actively works on legal remedies and interim solutions of support.
