West Bengal Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta presented the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s first full budget in the state assembly on 22 June.

“The mission of our government is to restore the glory of the state, to build Viksit Bengal as a part Viksite Bharat” said Dasgupta in the assembly as he allotted 36,000 crore for women financial assistance programme Annapurna Yojana.

-The government will accept one million people for different vacancies and reserve 33 percent of seats for female candidates. The government will fill 20,000 posts in the state police.
