Former English captain Michael Vaughan appreciated Ben Stokes as one of the best test captains in England’s history. When Vaughan spoke to Dinesh Karthik on Cricbuzz, he stressed that Stokes had already shown his size and did not have to win the upcoming Ashes series to do it.
During the Vaughan interview, he discussed Stokes’ performance in England, which recently closed the third test against India with the Lord. He appreciated the tactics of Captain England, in particular his decision to bring the test star Jofra Arler back to the test party for the Lord’s test and the way he set the field during the third test. Vaughan stressed how the signs of strong leadership and cricket consciousness were.

“What he did for the team and the way he played this expansive game across the test match for years is phenomenal,” Vaughan said.
He even pointed out that England rarely loses when Stokes plays, especially in high -pressure situations.
“England will not lose many cricket games when Ben Stokes is in action. When the pressure was turned on and the game is on the edge of the knife, I don’t think I have ever seen Ben lost,” he added.
Despite the fact that for his party, which often led from the front, Stokes has become several winning matches, was still unable to wrap the trophy Ashes to his name. However, Vaughan said it is not necessary for a 34 -year -old test captain in England to win the Ashes series in order to consider the giants.
Stokes was a captain during Ashes 2023, which ended in a draw of 2-2. England will again face Australia in Ashes this November. Vaughan believes that even if England loses, Stokes should be limited, given what he has already achieved as a player and captain.
