After the state government abandoned the land in Devanahali for an aerial project, the representative of the opposition leader in the Assembly and Dharwad West Mla Arvind Bellad called on the main Minister Siddaramaiaha to move the Aerospace project to North Karnataka.
In a letter written by the main minister Siddaramaiaha, who was released into the media, Mr. Bellad said that while the decision was taken by the state government was understandable and reflected the sensitivity of the government towards citizens’ concern, it was also important to consider long -term economic and strategic value of such a significant industrial initiative.
“Karnataka has become a leader in the aerial and defense production industry and contributes to approximately 65% of the country’s total production. The state also acquired global recognition that the third international ranking that the project and meaning should not be postponed but rather moved to the region suitable for such a letter.
With regard to these aspects, the state government should consider moving the aerial project to any part of North Karnataka, including Hubballi, Dharwada, Belagavi or others, said it offers several advantages in this area, including a large and qualified base for human resources, land availability and existing infrastructure support.
Even more important was that North Karnataka has long been industrialized and economically underestimated. Finding an aerial project in Hubball or other parts of North Karnataka would not only ensure the continuation of this strategically significant investment, but also industrial growth in the region, he said.
Bellad said that such a step would also serve the dual purpose of maintaining the leadership of the state in the aviation sector and support for balanced regional development.
