Senior IPS officer Sandeep Patil completed the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney, Australia.
Mr. Patil, who was posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Northern Range, Belagavi, completed his sixth Ironman.
Competing in the M45-49 category, Mr Patil completed the grueling race – 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km half marathon – in seven hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds.
His race splits included a 49.58 swim, 3.38.03 bike and 2.35.06 run, securing 77th place in his division.
He has completed Ironman races in Goa, Thailand, Poland, Turkey, Copenhagen and Sydney.
He said each race tested his endurance differently, but all required “consistency, discipline and a mindset to never stop moving forward,” the report said.
