The outgoing head coach Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Barcelona was playing beautiful football this season to win the title of the laliga. Ancelotti, who spoke before Real against Seville, was full of praise for FC Barcelona, who won home heights this season.
Barcelona defeated Real Madrid four times in the 2024-25 season, including two finals – once in the Spanish Super Cup and more in Copa del Rey. Ancelotti said that maxima and minima are part of football and that Barcelona deserves to win this season.
“This is part of football, sometimes you can’t get the best of all. Barcelona did very well because they were more consistent in the league and played very beautifully football,” Ancelotti told reporters.
“Congratulations to them. They deserved to win this league. Next year will be another story.”
Real was defeated at all four meetings across all competitions in the season, when Bara scored stunning 97 goals in 36 league matches – 23 more than real. Ancelotti, who is supposed to leave at the end of the season to train five times the world champions of Brazil, lamented over the number of injuries that his party suffered.
“This team was able to believe, even if no one believed in us. I will never criticize those players who have given me so much joy over the years,” the Italian said.
“There were too many injuries – and for very important players … Throughout this season these types of injuries have hurt us.”
The coach noted that his last season, after six most successful years in Santiago Bernaba across two Stints, would be even better if Real was in the title race of Laliga until the last day.
“Sevilla Ground (Pizjun) has always been difficult for us. Our goal is to try to complete the season on a high note,” he said.
“I wanted to enjoy it in another way, fight until the last day for the league – which wasn’t the case. But I still enjoy it. And then I have to prepare for the next challenge.”
