Legendary Versatile Yuvraj Singh was thinking about his experience with playing the home World Championship when he offered the advice of the female team Harmanpreet Kaur-Cailed Indian team before the World Women’s World Cup. Yuvraj shared his findings at the special event ’50 days at Go Go ‘in Mumbai, attended by ICC Chief Jay Shah, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Vice President Small Mandhan and Dough Jemimah Rodrigues.
Yuvraj urged an Indian female team that will enter the one -day World Cup as one of the favorite to remain present and focus on this process rather than the results. The legendary versatile, who won the tournament players during the Indian Historical victory in 2011, said there was no pressure to play before the domestic crowds.
India, which achieved the final of the World Women’s Cup in 2017, in 2022 failed to proceed behind the group phase. The team enters a home tournament in good shapeAfter winning four of their last five bilateral series, including the recent victory of the series in England in July.
“I feel like this is a great opportunity to create history. But that doesn’t mean you think you’ll win it from the beginning. You have to experience the whole mystery. You have to focus on this process and the results will come,” Yuvraj said, as the international cricket council quoted.
“I think (a female team) lost a few finals. We were there. It is really important that you enjoy this moment. Be at the moment to think too far forward,” he said.
Added pressure at home?
India failed to get out of the group phases for the last time when the ODI World Cup was played at home in 2013. However, the semifinals were carried out in 1997.
“Fans always want four and six or goals. That’s a game. They come to watch. They want fun. They want to have fun,” he added.
“But the point is that if you want to win the World Cup, you have to be in the situation we were in, I think.
“There will be times when things will not be good. And then experience and self-confidence-I know that I can be a player at the moment. I think every time you go to the field, you have to believe it.”
India heads to Australia for a three -way series between 14 and 20 September before returning home. Harmanpreet and her party will face England and South Africa in two warm -up matches in front of their World Cup operator against Australia.
The stellar opener of Mandhan said that the team worked not only on skills, but also on the temperament of the big match needed to excel in high -pressure tournaments.
“The idea has changed over the last two or three years. There is the peace I want to go on the pitch on things,” he said.
“Our team is heading in this direction. We know where we want to work hard. And when we enter the field, we know we just have to implement,” she added.
Mandhana also emphasized that the party focuses on staying at present than focusing on specific milestones.
“Whenever we did well on the pitch, everything else took care of each other. We are preparing really, really well. We had a preparatory camp, a tour in England, and one tour before the World Cup. To be honest, that’s the only thing we think about.”
