On Sunday, President Bar Council of India (BCI), chairman of Bar Council of India (BCI), called Panoli, an Instagram influencer who was arrested by the Police of Calcutta for alleged post, that Hindi film actors were silent in the Sindoor Operation.
Senior advocate and member of Rajya Sabha said they were firmly with Panoli, whose arrests and judicial ties for the now fried video in social media, despite her immediate apology, represented “absolute failure of justice and obvious attack on freedom of expression”.
The 22 -year influence, the inhabitants of Kolkaty and the registered at Pune’s legal university, was arrested on Friday evening from the Grrabogram.
On Saturday she was made in court in Kolkata, who sent her in judicial custody until 13 June.
“It is deeply worrying that the same government that opposed Sindoor-Resizing Antiteroristic Operation-had avenging the brutal killing of the innocent, now trying to silence a young legal student for questioning similar double standards,” Mishhra said.
A mere wrong selection of words cannot be called a blasphemy and a young law student has become a scapegoat and subjected to a harsh legal measure, while the past atrocities on specific communities by the government sponsored persons and entities remained “unsurpassed”, a statement was documented.
“Real democracy requires impartiality, restrictions and the same protection of rights, not selective outrage and Vendett,” the statement said.
“I call on the government of Bengal and its police to leave this dangerous path focusing on selected votes and adhere to the rule of law for all. I demand immediate release of Sharmishty, a fair trial, and the end of the double standards that have long suffered from the administration of justice of the state,” Misra said.
