The BCCI (Council for cricket control in India) brought a revolutionary change in its playing conditions for domestic cricket and introduced a provision for “serious injuries” for the upcoming season for “serious injuries” in multi -day tournaments. There have been widespread discussions on the need for the law that allow compensation for players who face serious injuries during the match due to the recently closed test series of five matches between India and England.
During the fourth test of the series, Batter Rishabh Pant’s Indian goalkeeper broke his finger and could no longer participate in the game. On the other hand, the versatile England Chris Woakes injured his shoulder during the fifth test and was expelled from the match. While the ICC still has to work on such a provision for an international cricket, BCCI introduced a new set of laws that would cause a revolutionary change.
According to the rule, any player who suffers injuries as a result of an external wound within the playing area may be to participate in the match and cannot continue to participate in the judge similar to a similar one.
“If the player suffers a serious injury during the relevant match, a serious exchange of injuries may be allowed in the following circumstances. During the game and in the playing area, it was in point 1.2.5.2.
“The injury should be available for the rest of the match that the player should be available. Identify the required exchanges of serious injury that will be similar in exchange for a player who has suffered serious injuries,” the rule added.
The rule will be used in multi -day matches of seniors and junior domestic tournaments and is ready to make their debut in the Duleep Trophy from 28 August and to 19 years of TA Nayudu Trophy. Recently, both Indian and English camps were asked for the need to compensate injury in cricket during the test series. While head coach India Gautam Gambhir supported this idea, England Captain Ben Stokes shredded as unnecessary and said that the law can be abused.
